SEO Vendors and Firms Setting Expectations for Clients

It is our opinion that of the SEO Companies out there, the best ones set expectations clearly for clients. For example, SEO keywords require constant metrics and updates to evolve. It should be clear what the keyword strategy involves so that the client knows the strategic work is being put in that will drive results. Shady SEO companies often promise first page Google results within 24 hours for a price, such as $200. This is almost always either a false claim, or done with paid ads which turn on only when funds are put towards specific keywords and ads they can show a client. They may say to search on a specific search phrase, such as “handheld mobile applications tool santa clara ca”, where it is such a specific search that there is no question the client can see the result. The problem here is that there may not be anyone searching for the given keyword phrase/s. It may show up quickly because either it is a quickly indexed rare blog entry as well.
We are very clear on our services and how we will show results in metrics. This is key.
